Dollar Thrifty Continues to Expand Brand’s Footprint
TULSA, Okla. — Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group has seen a swell in franchising activity lately, as the company continues to expand both in the U.S. and abroad.
Specifically, Dollar Thrifty reported Monday that in the past two quarters, it has granted 15 new franchises. Moreover, it has signed contracts with 13 additional franchises, and expects that these will be granted sometime in the next 90 days.
Of this group of 28 new franchises, 19 are located in the U.S. and nine are international.
"Franchise operations are an important part of our strategy, allowing us to expand our brand presence in a capital efficient manner into smaller domestic markets, as well as internationally," shared Scott Thompson, the company's president and chief executive officer.
"We are very pleased with the number of new franchises and excited about future opportunities to prudently expand our footprint domestically and internationally," he added.
Dollar Thrifty has 296 company-operated stories as well as 1,262 franchises that are located throughout 81 countries.
