Orbee completes SOC 2 Type 2 audit to certify handling of customer information
Orbee, a provider automotive customer experience middleware, has completed an SOC 2 Type 2 audit, which assesses a company’s internal controls in handling sensitive information.
The company said the audit ensures Orbee has business processes and security measures in place to protect customer data against unauthorized access, data breaches and leaks, aligning with privacy regulations and industry best practices.
“This certification showcases that we are balancing the rapid pace of innovation with serious consideration for long-term process and technology safeguards, both of which are important to our customers and partners,” Orbee co-founder and CEO Atul Patel said in a news release.
Established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the SOC 2 examination is designed for organizations of any size, regardless of industry and scope, to make sure the personal assets of their potential and existing customers are protected. It affirms that a company’s infrastructure, software, people, data, policies, procedures and operations have been formally reviewed.
“The audit process enables our entire team to understand the full scope of how security applies to the day-to-day work we do for our customers who put trust in us,” co-founder and chief technology officer Chris Prijic said.
Orbee noted that data security is an increasing concern for dealerships, given the intense scrutiny from regulatory agencies and that dealerships, in addition to the vendor partners that access their data, are also responsible for compliance with the many regulations that affect the auto retail experience.
The company said its SOC 2 Type 2 certification provides confidence in its CDP capabilities, marketing automation, audience management, attribution reporting and the use cases enabled by its middleware, designed to connect the ecosystem.
