Jeep Turns to Twitter Contest to Build Wrangler Interest
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — To drum up some more consumer interest for its Wrangler vehicles, Chrysler's Jeep brand is launching a Tweet-to-Win trivia contest next week.
Here's how it is designed to work. Each day from March 15-19, there will be a different Jeep trivia question posted on Jeep's Twitter page at www.twitter.com/jeep.
Whoever is first to tweet the answer correctly and in the proper format will be given a trip for two to the New York International Auto Show. Once they are there, contestants will dig for the "Golden Tiki" in a giant sandbox on April 1, and the person who finds it wins a 2010 Jeep Wrangler Island edition.
"The Jeep Tweet-to-Win contest is a unique and interesting way to begin to create buzz for the iconic Jeep Wrangler and the new special-edition Jeep Wrangler Islander which will hit Chrysler Group dealerships starting this spring," explained Mike Manley, president and chief executive officer of the Jeep Brand at Chrysler Group.
"Social media initiatives, such as this, offer the Jeep brand an opportunity to build and develop a connection with consumers and potential customers; this also enables the company to carry on a two-way conversation between the brand and its customers, which allows us to learn more about that customer and his or her needs," he added.
